The phrase "Judge a book by it's cover" was applied by the brain every time they see the faces of the opposite sex, says a recent study.
This research was conducted by observing the 78 men and 73 women who will do a short date. Researchers then asked them to determine if they will fit in with the man who would become their dating partner.
Before the event, the researchers scanned the brain activity 39 participants when they saw a picture of the couple on a date they will meet at the event. In a few minutes they were able to provide a scale of one to four about whether they could be related romantically with people.
Uniquely, the rating they gave prior to the event date is almost 63 percent accurate with the decision they made after the event date.
The Reason? Researchers explain that basically the brain has two different reactions to judge something. First is the ventromedial prefrontal cortex are active when looking at person who views interest publicly. This means that the person meets the standards it is also interesting for most people.
But when they see someone who appeals to them and was not seen by most people, the rostromedial prefrontal cortex in the brain they work.
"This section assesses not only ' do these people interesting? ' but also ' does this guy interesting and good for me?" says researchers, such as offered by Shine! (09/10).
How about you, do you often easily assess the opposite sex from his face? Or have you misjudge someone because his performance?
